Nestlé grinds out plant-based frothy coffees
2019-09-12

From:FoodProcessing

Nestlé has launched three plant-based frothy coffees under its Nescafé Gold brand, to meet the increasing consumer demand for plant-based and non-dairy products. The almond, oat and coconut latte plant-based soluble coffee mixes will initially be launched in the UK and Ireland, before being released in Asia, Europe, Latin America and Oceania.

Certified by the Vegan Society and bearing its sunflower trademark, the lattes are crafted from a blend of 100% Arabica coffees and plant-based ingredients, with each serving containing a source of calcium.

“Our new Nescafé Gold frothy coffees bring the plant-based, non-dairy trend out of the coffee shop and into the home. We are quick to spot and embrace coffee trends and tastes in this highly competitive and innovative market,” said Neil Stephens, Head of the Nescafé business in the UK and Ireland.

Coffee is one of Nestlé’s high-growth categories, with the company launching its premium Nescafé Azera brand roast and ground coffee bags across the UK and Ireland last month.

The new vegan lattes will complement the existing range of 17 Nescafé Gold frothy coffees.
