Beatson Clark and glass merchant Rawlings has developed a glass jar for a UK-based coffee producer Little’s that it claims to be lightweight and competitively priced

The family-run Devon-based speciality coffee roaster had been experiencing difficulties with its European supplier and was looking for a UK manufacturer to provide glass containers for its instant coffees.

“The Beatson Clark solution ticked all the boxes for Little’s quality brand and the speed to production has been incredible” said Thomas Wood, managing director at Rawlings.

“Our main focus was consistent supply,” added Will Little from Little’s.

Instant lightweight

He added: “We wanted to use a UK manufacturer and we were really impressed with both how competitive the price was and the quality of the product. Our coffees are at the premium end of the market and the quality of the packaging is very important to us.

“We really liked the lightweight option for our jar too, and the cost and environmental benefits that this brings.”

Little’s range of nine flavoured instant coffees are made from 100% pure Arabica beans and include flavours such as Rich Hazelnut, French Vanilla and Spicy Cardamom.

The company also produces a range of premium instant coffees which features Kenyan, Colombian, Italian Roast and Decaffeinated.

“The lead time from initial enquiry to production was just four months, so this has been a very quick turnaround,” said Beatson Clark marketing manager Charlotte Taylor.

“It was essential that we were able to guarantee continuity of supply so we have worked very closely with Little’s, responded very quickly and tried to be as flexible as possible in order to produce the jars on time.”
