From: FoodBev Media Ltd

British paper maker James Cropper has developed its first range of premium food contact papers, as it seeks to take a bite out of the food packaging industry.

The Dolcelicious line-up is suitable for contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuffs, and is specifically designed to elevate the packaging experience for premium food brands.

The “luxuriously tactile” paper is available in 11 eye-catching colours, including both matte and gloss finishes. The dyed-through paper guarantees a flawless finish regardless of how the paper is cut or folded, resulting in perfectly coloured edges, folds and creases.

The papers are particularly suited to artisan brand such as confectioners and bakers.

The range of paper includes nine matte colours and two gloss.

James Cropper market development manager Richard Burnett said: “We’ve been working on tailor-made solutions for a variety of brands within the food industry for some time and realised there is a growing demand for high-quality coloured papers in this sector. There’s a huge appetite to create something unique that stands out in this competitive industry, whether it’s high-end chocolatiers or speciality tea and coffee suppliers. After all, the first bite is with the eye!

“The launch of Dolcelicious signifies the beginning of our first stock range of food contact-approved papers. We’ve developed a variety of hues to choose from – from organic, subtle and natural to glamorous, rich and bold – to offer the desired impact for individual brands. However, we also encourage clients to ‘tailor’ the paper using embossing patterns to develop a truly unique product, which can help further enrich the brand.”

The range is manufactured in the UK. In addition to meeting a range of regulatory standards that make them suitable for use with food, all papers in the Dolcelicious range are Forest Stewardship Council-certified, making them an environmentally conscious choice as well.
