AG Barr’s Funkin introduces an espresso martini cocktail mixer

AG Barr-owned cocktail brand Funkin has expanded its range of one-litre pre-batched cocktail mixers with the addition of an espresso martini variant in the UK.

The brand said it is responding to the strong growth of espresso martini, which is now “firmly established in the UK’s top ten cocktails”.

The mixer is made from a blend of ingredients including Arabica cold brew coffee, coffee extract and a hint of vanilla to deliver a “rich and indulgent flavour”.

Funkin said the product allows pubs and bars to easily serve the cocktail without the need for coffee brewing equipment or brewing coffee in advance to meet demand.

Andrew King, Funkin managing director, said: “The espresso martini is seeing a spike in popularity as classic cocktails continue to gain appeal. It was a natural next step for Funkin to add this serve to our repertoire of premium pre-batched cocktail mixers, providing customers with an efficient and consistent solution so they can easily recreate this great-tasting drink time and time again.”

The mixer is available in one-litre cartons in cases of six. Each carton makes ten cocktails and has an ambient shelf life of up to 12 months unopened and ten days in the refrigerator once opened.

AG Barr bought Funkin in 2015 in a deal worth around £16.5 million.
