Good Hemp introduces dairy alternative chilled hemp milk
2018-10-02 From: FoodBev Braham and Murray, the UK developer of food ingredients from hemp, has launched a new chilled hemp milk under its Good Hemp brand. Made from organic hemp seeds, the milk is marketed as a dairy alternative with a “clean and light taste” and fortified with calcium, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. Braham and Murray said the milk is suited for vegans and vegetarians, those suffering from intolerances or consumers looking for plant-based products, as it is dairy- and lactose-free. The chilled milk is said to be ideal for smoothies and cereals, and unlike other milk alternative products, it doesn’t split in hot drinks. Launched in both unsweetened and original varieties, the products are the first chilled launches from Good Hemp and sit alongside its existing ambient range. The introduction follows closely on from the company securing further investment from Edinburgh-based private equity firm Inverleith. Braham and Murray managing director David Shaw said: “Good Hemp is delighted to announce the addition of these two new chilled hemp milks to our consumer brand range of hemp-based food products. We believe they will be a popular choice for consumers looking for allergen-free, plant-based products with strong nutritional and environmental benefits. “The launch capitalises on the increasing consumer trend towards healthy plant-based foods which combine these nutritional benefits with environmental credentials.” The milks are packaged in a clear recyclable bottle which aims to showcase the creamy colour of the products. Both are on sale in 750ml bottles in Asda and Waitrose stores in the UK, retailing at £1.99.
