Mr. Gu-Liang Lai, the founder of Gu Wang Foods Co., Ltd., inherited the traditional brewing techniques during his childhood. He established Sinciali Soy Sauce Garden in 1952, which then produced soybean and black bean sauce for twenty years. Subsequently, some large enterprises replaced traditional time-consuming brewing methods with bean bits and machinery to reduce production costs. Facing the buffets of change in the industry, the Mr. Lai still insisted on the principle of providing brewed delicacies, by transforming the company into one that manufactured bottled fermented soybean curd and soy sauce pickles. Furthermore, small bottles were created to substitute for inconvenient big bottles that were then available in the market. This creation received excellent opinion at that time and has been broadly applied to bottled soy sauce pickles since then.
