Toronto, Ont. – Maple Leaf Foods is celebrating the official opening of its new bakery facility in Hamilton, Ont., making it the largest commercial bakery in the country. The 385,000-sq.-ft., $100-million Trillium bakery will allow Toronto, Ont.-based Maple Leaf to boost its manufacturing efficiencies through scale, efficient design flow and new state-of-the-art technologies. It also features a 50,000-sq.-ft. area dedicated to new product innovation and category expansion.
In addition to creating up to 300 full-time jobs, the Hamilton plant will support 30 seasonal positions.
