The confectionery market comprises chocolate products which account for 50% of the whole market, snacks 19%, biscuits 14%, sugar confectionery and pastilles 11% and chewing gum with only 6%. Current value of the confectionery market in Poland is 12.7 billion zlotys. Forecasts indicate a further increase up to 9% within 5 years (after Euromonitor International).

According to a TGI survey conducted between July 2013 and June 2014 by Millward Brown, most respondents declared purchasing packaged biscuits (61.8%), second came packaged chocolate products (49.1%), followed by chewing gum (45.2%). Less frequent consumers choice being savoury snacks (43%) as well as various pastilles (21.1%).

The sales value of the chocolate confectionery market was estimated in 2013 by Euromonitor International at 6.4 billion zlotys. Chocolate products offer the best growth perspectives among all the confectionery segments in Poland. Consumer preferences focus primarily on milk chocolate and chocolate with filling while the variety of the latter continues to expand. Also dark chocolate is not sinking into oblivion as the consumers appreciate its health benefits. Chocolate products witness also high popularity of pralines, boxed assortments and bars. According to the TGI survey conducted between July 2013 and June 2014 by Millward Brown, 49.1% of respondents declared they purchased chocolate products.
