Holland’s Pies introduces new packaging for hot food-to-go ranges

UK baker Holland’s Pies has introduced new packaging for its Food to Go range of hot counter food.

The packaging brings together design and practical usability in order to enhance the products’ appeal with consumers, Holland’s Pies said.

The improved packs boast a number of updates, including the use of oven-proof printed film. The advanced film will replace the clear plastic and sticker combination on previous packs, allowing for branding, nutritional information and ingredients to be printed directly onto the pack.

It will be rolled out across seven frozen baked goods lines, including the brand’s potato and meat pie, peppered steak pie and Guinness steak slice. The packaging will be available on shelves in Tesco and Co-op North West stores later this year.

The step forward in packaging technology will not only save time for store teams previously using stickers to label goods, will also mean that the products can be heated from frozen within the pack, making them far more convenient to prepare.

Bill Smith-Coats, sales and marketing director for Holland’s Pies, said: “Food-to-go pastry is a £1 billion market and our new Food to Go packaging solution allows this large amount of consumers to enjoy Holland’s Pies on the go, baked fresh every day.

“As with all our products, we’re continually looking for ways to improve on product experience not just for our customers but the stores that stock our products too. This latest design has seen us invest in consumer insight, technology and design to increase convenience and visual appeal. We look forward to seeing it hit the shelves.”
