Food Expo 2016 inaugurated in Damascus
2016-05-17 From:Syrian TV Activities of Food Processing and Packaging Exhibition /Food Expo 2016/ were launched on Monday at Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus with the participation of major local companies specialized in food industry. The exhibition held under the motto “Our hope is big and our efforts continue for modern Syria”, was organized by Delta Group for Economy & Business and sponsored by Ministry of Industry, in cooperation with Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Industry Minister Kamal Eddin Touma said that the three-day exhibition will bring together food manufacturers, merchants, businessmen, investors, and exporters, as well as consumers to find opportunities it may provide to sign sale contracts and give notes about products with the aim of upgrading their quantity and quality and contributing to achieving food security. The minister noted that organizing the exhibition despite current circumstances and the number of participant companies convey a message to the entire world that the Syrian industry is recovering and regaining its glory and attraction. Minister Touma reiterated the ministry’s unremitting efforts to develop national industry, set up appropriate laws and rules to achieve this goal and overcome obstacles hindering industrialists’ work. For his part, Ghiath Shama’a, General Manager of Delta Group, said that the agricultural and food industry sectors proved their steadfastness and continue to fulfill the Syrian people’s needs and requirements despite the difficult work and production conditions which, in turn, contribute to preserving the fame and high quality of Syrian products Shama’a said that the food industry sector has continued to supply local market with necessary goods and products, noting that the annual Food Expo stresses the strong will of manufacturers and merchants to go ahead with producing, selling, marketing, improving products and communicating with local, Arab and foreign companies.
