Maxxium UK’s Midori Melon liqueur has joined forces with YO! Sushi to bring cocktails to the Japanese inspired restaurant’s conveyor belts for the first-time as part of a new festive initiative.

The Midori and Yuzu cocktail is a mix of Midori Japanese melon liqueur, Kyoko green tea, San Su Yuzu, sparkling and fresh cucumber, which is now available in YO! Sushi’s restaurants across the UK until the end of December.

With both brands rooted in Japanese heritage and culture, the collaboration seeks to target existing and new customers on both sides by offering a new occasion for consumers to enjoy their favourite food and drink at the trade’s busiest time if the year.

Johna Penman, marketing controller Maxxium UK said: “We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with YO! and bringing cocktails to the menu for the first time. YO! is known for fast, fresh and innovative Japanese dishes and our plan is to translate this approach into the world of cocktails.

“Great Japanese food coupled with exciting Japanese drinks feels like the perfect match, as people break out of their normal routine and trade up at Christmas.”

Mike Lewis, group executive chef at YO! Sushi added: “We are pleased to be joining forces with Midori Japanese Melon Liqueur to offer our customers a new and exclusive Japanese cocktail for the first time ever at YO! Sushi.  Our customers love to be wowed by our new innovative offerings; the Midori & Yuzu is an exciting and refreshing mix of Midori, Kyoko Green Tea and cucumber, making it the perfect accompaniment to sushi over the festive season.”
