Fresno Food Expo plans for more exhibitors, buyers
2017-02-20 From:The Packer The seventh annual Fresno Food Expo will include expanded exhibitor and buyer platforms aimed at building opportunities for central California food and beverage companies to connect with retail and foodservice buyers, planners said. Exhibitor and buyer registration is underway for the event, which is scheduled for July 26-27 at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center. Nearly half of the expo show floor already is filled with returning exhibitors, with more than 150 exhibitors and 950 pre-qualified domestic and international buyers expected to participate, according to a news release. Kicking off in the spring as part of an expanded exhibitor platform, the expo plans to have an exhibitor gathering and seminar for central California food and beverage companies. This event features a speaker who will address the needs of businesses in region, including topics such as professional leadership, training and motivation. The expo continues to include educational training opportunities for current exhibitors throughout the year on varying topics. The expo will recognize innovation across the region through the New Product Awards presented by Baker Peterson Franklin CPA LLP. Exhibitors include startup companies, according to the release. Expo planners say buyer participation is now five times greater than it was in the inaugural event in 2011. In 2016, the expo featured more than 900 local, national and international buyers, 77% of whom had decision-making authority, according to the release. Retailers attending the show include Aldi, Costco Wholesale, Grocery Outlet, Safeway, Save Mart Supermarkets, Vallarta Supermarkets, Wal-Mart and Whole Foods Market, along with international buyers.
