HKTDC Food Expo 2011
2011-08-08

Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The HKTDC Food Expo has a good taste for business - a taste which just gets better with each serving. The 2010 event attracted more than 740 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions - 23% more than the previous year. New participating countries and regions included Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Switzerland and Uganda.

The fair is divided into two sections: the Trade Hall and Public Hall.

Food for Trade
The Trade Hall is the place in which suppliers meet trade buyers, making valuable new connections and partnerships, entering into negotiations and sealing deals.

The Trade Hall is divided into group pavilions. The 2010 event featured major pavilions from Japan and Korea, as well as group pavilions from Canada, the Chinese mainland, Iran, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines and Taiwan.

Building Brands
The Public Hall is perfect for companies wanting to get fantastic exposure to public visitors, helping build brand awareness among end consumers while getting valuable on-the-spot feedback on their latest ideas and food offerings.

One of the highlights of this hall is the Premium Food Zone, which specialises in branded products. In 2010, more than 30 brands took part in the event.

Tempting Tastes
There are plenty of activities for the public, with the fair featuring many different types of cooking demonstrations covering distinctive cuisines. These demonstrations showcase the variety and versatility of the food products on offer and to help expose public visitors to a world of new tastes. Other attractions include industry seminars, singing performances and lucky draws.
