Nescafé launches compact refill pack

Nescafé has launched a new 150g compact refill pack format for its Original, Gold Blend and Decaff products in an effort to reduce its impact on the environment.

According to Nescafé, the new packs “require 50% fewer lorries per tonne of coffee to transport them to retailers”.

The refill packs are now available in stores and are made from a combination of aluminium foil and plastic film.

‘Less energy’

The packs require less energy and water to produce, and take up less space in shopping bags, bringing added convenience to consumers, according to the instant coffee firm.

Nestlé UK Trade communications manager Graham Walker said: “We believe that the new refill pack will inspire consumers to buy a product that is great value and has a reduced environmental footprint.

“As the category leader, we are always looking to drive innovation within the category as well as offer our customers premium products for a competitive price.  We hope that the new refill pack will boost sales for our customers.”
