Tetra Pak, the world's leading food processing and packaging solutions company, has announced its winning the second runner up, Super Platinum Award, for its Pune Unit at The Economic Times – Frost & Sullivan, India Manufacturing Excellence Awards, held recently in Mumbai.

The awards seek to recognise those companies and facilities that have taken revolutionary strides towards adapting, modernising and optimising their systems and processes. Tetra Pak India has been accredited with this recognition for the manufacturing facility located at Takwe, near Pune, in Maharashtra. The factory has also received other important recognitions including:

● Excellence in consistent TPM Commitment Award 2008 by eminent auditors of JIPM (Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance).
● Dr R J Rathi award for "Environmental Pollution Control Industries" instituted by Mahratta Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), in recognition to Tetra Pak’s production facility in Takwe, which follows World Class Manufacturing methods and rigorously adhering to the environment management system as per ISO 14001- 2004 standards.
● Delighted at winning this honour, Peter Hane-Weijman, managing director, Tetra Pak South Asia Markets, said, "Tetra Pak is honoured to receive this recognition. The Takwe unit is a matter of pride for our market companies around the world. It is our endeavour to be highly efficient and responsive to our customers needs and also be equally responsible to the environment we operate in."
